Haywards Hill Quarry
Helms Deep & Minas Tirith
Although the set has been completely dismantled, those with a sense of curiosity can venture along the Western Hutt Road to reach Haywards Hill Road. Situated at the base of this hill, the quarry is, however, inaccessible to the general public.
Helm's Deep fortress was positioned in the northern White Mountains, overseeing the Deeping Comb. Initially built by Gondor, it was eventually occupied by the people of Rohan and became a place of refuge during times of conflict. The Tower of the Hornburg, Helm's Gate, the Deeping Wall, and Deeping Tower were significant defensive structures that safeguarded the Aglarond, a system of caverns extending into the hills. Often referred to as the Glittering Caves, these caves provided a hideout during the Battle of Helm's Deep.
Additionally, the city of Minas Tirith was brought to life at the same quarry off Haywards Hill Road. However, at present, no remnants exist as the quarry has been restored to full operation.
